The Brunswick Community College Dolphins men's basketball team dropped a hard-fought overtime contest on Saturday, falling 80–69 to NJCAA Division I No. 3 ranked Daytona State College (FL) in the second day of the Wake Tech Classic in Raleigh, NC. In a matchup featuring two programs that reached the 2025 National Tournament, Brunswick controlled much of the first half, building a lead of as many as 13 points and taking a 41–30 advantage into the locker room. Daytona State mounted a comeback after halftime using their superior interior size, erasing the deficit and tying the game in the final minute of regulation at 65. The Dolphins had a chance to win at the buzzer, but their final shot rimmed out, sending the game to overtime. Daytona capitalized in the extra period, to determine the final score. Brunswick, now 2–1 on the season, will return to action next Sunday when the Dolphins host East Georgia State College at 4 p.m.
